TRIBUTES TO ST MARGARET by Jackie Terrett :: You need to be a member to contact artists →Join :: Portfolio Hinged Triptych, mixed media on wood panels.
The work was inspired by the medieval depiction of St Margaret of Antioch, patron Saint of childbirth, on the Rood Screen of St Helens Church, Ranworth, Norfolk. The side panels have references to Eve and the serpent. The main central panel can be mirror plated to the wall, while the hinged outer panels can be attached by hooks and eyes to the wall, allowing the observer to open and close them revealing the reverse design (image 2) in the manner of an altar piece. I work in a wide variety of media including oil on canvas, collage, acrylic, water colour and pastel. I have taught art and art history in schools, universities and colleges in the Midlands. I have a BA hons in both art and history with an MA in art history. My work is in collections in the USA, Holland and the UK. | |
