Hollow paper sculpture: Media: fragmented acrylic painting, cartridge and tosashi paper.
This piece was derived from a plaster statue of the Virgin Mary, which has strong childhood and family resonances and associations.
I wanted to find out what would happen if I transformed something solid and prosaically made, into a hollow paper ghost.
My work uses a range of visual and physical processes to explore the fragility of memory, loss and retrieval.
