William Blake once said, "The true method of knowledge is experiment." I believe that my own work encompasses this. I try to be free within my artwork to always explore and never be set and grounded in my ways. I often use re-occurring themes such as nostalgia, communication, recycling, family, emotion and I frequently reference the past, mainly from 1950's to present day. I get excited by looking into history, particularly at different trends/patterns and how this can be translated into the modern day.
I use many methods and materials to make my art; my work ethic is to approach each series/individual piece of work with the intent to use the best materials available to me to convey my thoughts and ideas. I do however find myself returning to and developing some of my favourite processes and styles of work, which include; collage, installation, environmental art, printmaking, textile and 3D work.
