| The contexts of my paintings are rooted to my cultural, social and personal experiences but Nature is what inspires my work the most. I believe that my love for Nature, colours and paint reflects in each of my paintings .I love to explore the paint to its maximum potential. To me the paint isn’t just a medium to paint pretty pictures but I am looking at its potential as a substance. I love to transform the paint into a physical imaginary landscape. Literally I am creating my own Nature through the use of thick paint and layers which are often extreme. An intention is to break down the boarders between two and three dimensionality in the painting .I like to allow the work to be excessive and controlled; and at the same moment use ideas to do with abundance and sensuality combined with an idea of social displacement. My paintings aims are to seduce and lure the viewer in, however the density of the landscape also acts as a type of overbearing threat or beautiful repellent. |
