I graduated with a degree in Fine Art in 1996 and since then I have sold and exhibited both nationally and internationally. I have also been involved in several public art projects including "whitehorseswhistable" (2013) and "Flogging a dead horse" in Herne Bay (2017) and in 2012 undertook an artist's residency at The Beaney Art Gallery and Museum Canterbury. In 2017 I created a successful fundraising art project "GIVE THEM SHELTER" in aid of the homeless.
My influences include Klee, Klimt, Hundertwasser, ceramic art and textiles. When I paint I am constantly negotiating a position between opposing forces: the abstract and the figurative, the structured and the intuitive, the real and the imaginary; they all meet and shake hands in my works. Above all I celebrate colour and aim to create works that uplift and intrigue. |
