After graduating in France with a degree in Fine Art, Agnes Chevalier studied History of Art at the Sorbonne, University of Paris and later Embroidery and Textiles at Goldsmith College, University of London.
She has been living and working in the UK for the last 30 years, developing an extensive portfolio of Fine Art Embroidery inspired by Impressionist and Pre-Raphaelite Artists and by the beauty of the South East English countryside where she lives, focusing on extraordinary trees and ancient forests . Her recent work has included portraits of animals.
Agnes draws with the needle of her very trusted old sewing machine and paints with a palette of vibrant coloured threads to create amazing 3D effect pictures.
Her work has been exhibited in France, Belgium and England where for the last 10 years she has participated in the Brighton Artist Open Houses Festival. Last July her work was also shown at the Brighton Jubilee Library.
She is a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild and the Fiveways Artists group in Brighton.
