I'm a painter interested in light and shadow and the way this interacts with human-made, built environments. I grew up in Dallas, Texas, relocating to London in 1993, and I am still greatly affected by the strong Texas light, which shows up in my work. I am fascinated by the way light refracts onto objects, changing and morphing into different shapes and patterns. I use colour to describe the sensation of light and to construct tension between positive and negative space, paring down shapes to their essential elements, and hovering on the edge of abstraction and representation.
I've exhibited at The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art and the Victory Gallery in the US and in London at the Royal Academy, Gallery Elena Shchukina, Vegas Gallery, Griffin Gallery, GX Gallery, Arthouse1 and the Angus-Hughes Gallery. I was shortlisted for the Evening Standard Contemporary Painting Prize in 2017 and the Wells Art Contemporary in 2018 and 2019.
