This acrylic painting is part of a new series 'Figure in Context' started in July 2016 and was really inspired by a need to portray the figure in more detail and to explore the tactile nature of paint in a thicker form. Urban Warrior is another response (retrospectively) to how an individual might have to be in the light of spontaneous and unprovoked terrorist attacks. Urban Warrior for me has a lot of 'vulnerability' about it and I think this has captured this fairly well.
