I have tried for a long time to unpick what my various strands of work are about and I have realised that they are all about personal stories. A portrait is the most obvious kind and mine are often not of faces, but hair, hands and feet. Other work is from pre-digital photographs, the kind of family snaps or found images that we all have. They allow their own story of that moment, but I am interested in the idea that photographs are posed and we present ourselves in them to please others and the memories are often untrue.
