John and Julie

Based on a small school photograph, oils on aluminium panel John with tank top and Julie with a dress from the jumble sale. Julie loved her dress but when she was too shy to show and tell her teacher anything about the weekend the teacher prompted her to say where she had got her pretty dress from and she naively told the whole class that mom had bought it from the jumble sale. John is a year younger than Julie and features in several of her paintings as he was always the little brother who struggled. John and Julie come from a large family of 8 children.
