This work looks at the dynamics of vitality versus frailty; exploring the notion that we operate as human spirits in transient fleshy fragile vessels, the series was made in response to long periods of looking after my elderly ailing mother. I have used a figure from a Frida Kahlo painting (acknowledging her fights with her own mortality) against a backdrop of diseased, though beautiful, cells
