I am painter, based in Buckinghamshire. Recently graduated from Bath School of Art and Design.
My paintings deal with energies and states of mind; placing painting at the summit of experience. Rooted within the terms of Romanticism, with its validation of strong emotion as an aesthetic source; they attempt to capture the Sublime experiences of untamed nature and its overpowering qualities on man.
Moving from the process of capturing and representing the landscape the paintings focus on an exploration of extreme emotional states in relation to nature. The viewer is confronted with an external void, a sense of awe, experiencing a state of liminality and it is this experience that becomes the subject matter. |
