Claudia Borgna was born in Germany and raised in Italy.
Her installations made out of recycled plastic bags have been exhibited internationally and awarded in several occasions (www.claudiaborgna.com).
Claudia’s cultural formation developed at the University of Genoa in Italy, at the London Metropolitan University in the UK, and at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her academic experience could not be complete without the knowledge gathered from rural and urban environments, by the beach and sea, in the country and the streets of villages, provinces and metropolises.
Through installation, performance and video art, Claudia explores the political, social and environmental functions of art making.
In her new works, forms of poetic resistance use the body as main medium to imaginatively provoke the sensorial, while exploring her renewed feminist eco femininity. By collaborating with her intuitions and our human body tissue’s knowledge, her actions aim at disrupt and reeducate herself away from patriarchal inculcations. |
