oil on linen 86x101 . This image reveals a stage in fracking where the earth's porous surface is covered in black plastic, when pit and hillock ape the larger landscape. This act of domination also manifests to me, a slick and sickly beauty. The flags of demarcation add to the ambiguity with their usual association of village fete or town festivity.
